Issue:
Arecont Vision cameras are not being discovered by AV IP Utility or are unavailable in the web browser.
Resolution:
- Verify physical cabling and power.
- Refer to the datasheet of the product regarding PoE / Auxiliary power requirements.
- Ethernet runs should be no longer than 100 meters using either EIA/TIA 568A or 568B standards.
- Use a PoE injector to bypass any potential network issues.
- Verify the NIC on the camera and switch are lit.
- Test / replace the cable as needed.
- Move the camera to a different port on the switch.
- If these are managed switches, verify PoE is enabled and that there are no security policies in place that would prohibit the camera from coming online.
- For Contera™ cameras, try to press and hold the physical reset button for 10 -15 seconds.
- Install IP Utility v2 (older Arecont Models) or v3 (Contera cameras) on your laptop and connect to the same switch / PoE injector as the camera. This utility will perform a search and discover any Arecont Vision cameras online regardless of what it's current IP address is set to.
- Once the camera has been discovered there are 2 options.
- Change the IP address of the camera using IP Utility to an address in the same network scheme as your laptop OR
- Change the IP address of the laptop to one in the same network scheme as the camera.
- Once the camera has been discovered there are 2 options.
- Launch the command prompt and verify you can ping the camera.
- Launch a web browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) to the interface of the camera.
